My computer is sick!

I'm running XP on an HP7965. Everything going great until
a few days ago. Since then everything is slow and jerky,
I can't get the disk cleaner tool to work at all. Only
used about 19% of available memory and I don't need to
defrag. I took the unit into Best Buy yesterday. They
said I needed a tune-up and a clean-up (for about $50.)
Picked it up last night and they said no virus's or worms
found.

I'm still having the same problems today and it seems to
be getting worse. I've noted that I usually use about 20%
or so of my CPU processing power but now it is showing
100% usage and I don't know why since I have closed just
about all other background programs running off the task
bar.

It works OK for most things like AOL with some freeze ups
and delays but my hi-tech games such as Flight Simulator
2004 is so jerky as to be unusuable. I wanted Best Buy to
do a full recovery and planned to reinstall all the
programs I use but they said it wasn't necessary and that
a tune-up would do the trick. Plus they said I needed to
bring in a recovery disk if I wanted a full recovery. I
don't recall ever getting one. I was hoping to get some
suggestion as to my next course of action before I lug
the HP back to Best Buy and start yelling. Any help would
be appreciated. Thanks.
