I have XP Home, 1.4 AMD, 512 Ram, 64mb GeForce3.
1. Sometimes I can't maximize and/or minimize programs, not from the upper
right-hand corner nor from the taskbar.
2. I just exited windows media player about a 15 minutes ago and it's still
playing the music in the folder I was playing when I clicked the X button as
I write this message. I hit Ctr-Alt-Del and it doesn't show that it's
running. Only IE and OE are running but still it's playing. There is only IE
and OE also on the taskbar but somehow the Win Media is still playing music!
3. Sometimes my desktop will completely drop out and shows me no icons on
it. I only have about 6 icons there but sometimes nothing will show and
always out of the blue.
4. It takes it no less than 3-4 minutes to start up.
5. It is very common that when I minimize Word I'll get a message asking if
I want to save and the taskbar will blink orange. When that happens all I
can do is to exit and restart word.
I have all the latest upgrades from Norton and have no viruses (just
scanned) I also regularly scan for spyware and my comp is completely clean.
Am I do a complete reformat and re-install everything, OS et all, to fix
these problems or is this pretty standard?
