My Computer icon missing from desktop after reinstall of Windows XP

R

Ray Buttigieg

I recently formatted my hard disk and reinstalled Win XP home edition.

On the desktop, I am missing the icon for "My Computer", however when I view
the Desktop directory in explorer, the icon is there.

How can I get the icon on the desktop (and not as a shortcut, as the
shortcut does not provide the same functionality when right clicking the
icon)

Thank you in advance,

Ray

Hi,

right click on desktop and click Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop >
on Desktop Icons select My Computer.

I hope this helps you out,

Hi

Try this:

Right click the Desktop, select Properties>Desktop>Customise Desktop...
Then enable 'My Computer'. OK your way.

R-click in the Desktop, take Properties, on Desktop page click Customise
Desktop , and there are check boxes to place several items on the
desktop, including My Computer
