My computer dont respond

Dear all

i would appreciate if anyone could help me.

Here is the problem.

In my work we have a PC with windows XP SP2. When i start the pc everything
seems to work properly. I can also use the internet through firefox for
unlimited time without any problem. But when i try to open a folder from the
desktop or the "my computer" icon i have the following classic message:

"Windows explorer caused an error and needs to close ....."
When i push close (dont sent) everything stop to work (the mouse freezes or
nothing happened when you click different things). Using ctrl+Alt+del i can
see the process dialog but i can not do anything else (ctrl+alt+del does not
gives restart).

I search for virus and i find some trojans which i think i removed but the
problem persists.

Any guideline for next step?

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
