my cd/dvd player will not open

My cd/dvd recorder? will not open; the button used for
ejecting cd's or opening it and the Ctrl+E key does not
work either. What should I do? This is a new computer.
Although purchased last year October, I did not put it
together and start using it until late January/Feb.
Please help. Thank- You.

I'VE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY CD BURNER ON MY
COMPUTER. THERE IS A LITTLE PINHOLE ON MY BURNER, I
OPENED A PAPERCLIP TO STICK INTO THE HOLE,,, VERY
CAREFULLY, & IT IT CAME OPEN.

I have the same difficulty, and your help worked. However, the Win
Explorer still shows the titel of the last CD I inserted!?

Also, I don't understand the mechanical (?) error that the CD drive
doesn't eject when simply pushing the button. I use a CD drive in a
DELL pc bought in february this year. So this should work. I shall
also ask the Dell people why the drive doesn't work but do you have
any idea?
