MVP Question

Hilarious!

"John John" has a...

Public Hissy Fit.

I wouldn't trust this bloke to walk and chew gum at the same time or cross
the street and buy me a quart of milk -- much less advise on a complex
technical matter -- MVP or not.

Total Non Sequitur.

Here's another pogue who calls himself an MVP but is too cowardly even to
use his name.

We pretty well see where you come from. There are a couple like you in
these groups, when things don't go their way they resort to insults, then
if others turn it right back at them they have issy [sic] fits and think
that others owe them respect! And by the way my name is John, that is all
that you need to know, I owe you nothing.

Precisely...

I wouldn't trust anyone who won't use his or her FULL name on USENET either.

How, pray tell, would you know one way or another if they are?

This entire issue is academic...

Because, as has been pointed out by others, one shouldn't trust ANYTHING he
or she gets over USENET -- without double and triple checking it.

And that includes something from an MVP as well -- particularly if you are
being told to make Registry Changes, or something equally complex.

WHY are you here? Have users in your other hangouts grown weary of
your pomposity? You certainly can't be thinking of asking for help.

Well that's your personality. Frankly I think it stinks.

Nonsense! Even if you did have their FULL name what makes you think
that they would be more trustworthy?

Balderdash. I didn't say they would be more trustworthy, or that I
would
trust them. Read more carefully.

Would you actually do background checks on persons to make sure that
they can be trusted? The Usenet is what it is, take anything on it as
you please and want and leave the rest to abandon.

If you think knowing someone by name makes them trustworthy I would

LOL - And a Name is meaningless, since the information on the identify
is not anything you can verify.

The only thing that you can validate are the "identity" against the
headers and see if they remain consistent across an acceptable period of
time. Having a munged email contact in the signature area is also a good
way to know if they are legit.

Posting with your real name and other valid information is not really a
good idea, as you can see from a certain Butts character that stalks
members of this group - if all of their real identities were available
there is no telling what that stalking idiot might do.

Balderdash. I didn't say they would be more trustworthy, or that I would

But you did say "I wouldn't trust anyone who won't use his or her FULL
name on USENET " which means you believe that "Full Name" has something
to do with the validity of the posting individual.

This one is so dumb he can't even write a simple English sentence, much less
buy a quart of milk or walk and chew gum at the same time....

Yet he wants you to trust his complex technical advice as an MVP.

Twaddle...

WHY are these little pogues so afraid of being IDENTIFIED?

Doesn't seem to have an unreasonable FEAR of that -- nor do many others.

What kind of stupid idiot are you? Posting personal information on public
newsgroups is not really recommended, if one wants to make his or her name
known it's their personal decision. What difference does it make if they
use a real name or a pseudonym? As if you could make a decision to trust
them or not just because they revealed their name, you wouldn't even know if
the given name is real! Do you think that you know who someone is just
because they gave you their name? Only idiots and complete morons would
expect or demand that people post their real names in public groups and you
fit the bill!

About as long as it would any other state/country.

You are right, but ... you are taking the toll-bait and allowing
yourself to be sucked down to their level. Why bother unless it's some
sort of entertainment value to you.

Two peas in a pod! No one could have put together a bigger pair of
egotistical morons than the two of you. Twaynie aka "loose pop rivets" and
the perennial troll D. Spencer Hines! You know you're in dumb country when
Twayne comes to your defense! What a fine pair of dumb trolls!
