Muting the sound on a video clip, so only the audio clip sound plays

I am able to change the balance between the sound from
the video clip and the sound on the added audio/music
clip, but only by changing the balance for the entire
project. I have a few clips in my film where I want to
override the sound that was originally recorded with the
video, and have only the sound form my added audio clip
play.


If I keep my audio levels in the middle (this function
seems to effect the entire project) and increase the
volume of my added audio clip, this drowns out the video
sound...but it's very loud and distorted.

If I put the audio levels all the way to the audio/music
side...those few clips are fine...but he rest of my film
is silent.

Am I missing something, or is this just a limitation to
the software?

There's also a volume adjustment for an individual clip. Right click on the
audio of any clip and adjust its volume. If you need to, split the clip into
smaller clips to work on the volume of the smaller segment.
