It may be that some mm files got corrupted with the sp2 install, try removing
it MM and reinstall..

I'm having the same problem with MM v8.0. mm support recommended
reinstall...which I have done (2 times before contacting mm) it still takes
a long time to start..about 25 to 35 seconds. I noticed by accident while
WIN media 10 was running I put an audio CD in and MM opened in a reasonable
time. these two previously never had problem coexisting on this system. any
suggestions....

I did reinstall MusicMatch 9.0 many times but did not help. But when i
install MusicMatch 7.1 it works fine (i mean start real quick and no freezing
nothing). But when i installed 9.1 yeah R B it takes 25 - 35 seconds.
I request those people have XP Pro SP2, please install MusicMach v9 and see
what happens. I'll appreciate your time.

MM9 runs fine on my system with SP2. Have you asked MusicMatch tech
support?

Maybe MusicMatch as not worked any fixes to be released to be compatible
with XP SP2 yet.

I've had the same problem!!! I use xp home with SP2 and MM v9. After a
bit of using MM it just freezes. I've reloaded my PC from scratch,
I've reloaded MM v9 twice, I reloaded MM 8 and experienced the same
freeze after a while. Please someone - do you have a solution? I'll
try to reload MM to v7.1 if I can find it, but that's really not the
answer!

I've been using MMJB since V2 and it uses hell of a lot of memory.
V8 - V9 regularily froze with 512mb so I went back to 7 untill I upped
the memory to 1Gb. By the way I'm on XP Pro and was on SP2 at the
time.

don't think its an sp2 problem am running XP pro sp2 on older dell p3 933mhz
with 384ram and mmjb 9.0 with no problems but mmjb does a lot of calling
home and the internet part seem really slow(am on cable) if you are on
dialup could be a big problem as it seems to freeze while its waiting for
incoming pages and other online things to come in. BTW I avoided the upgrade
to 9.0 as long as possible but 8.0 would not shutdown on its own

Thanks for this tip. Yes, I only have 512MB of memory. Maybe that's
it. I'll give it a try.

I appear to have a slightly bigger PC than you, and I am not on dialup.
I don't notice that it's particularly slow, but then it freezes solid
- I can't do anything to shut down except hold in the ON button.

Mary, when you post a reply to a newsgroup, please quote enough
of the message to which you're replying to put your reply into
context, as I did above.

Otherwise, to the many newsgroup readers who don't save
already-read messages, your message turns out to be
incomprehensible, as this one did to me. I have no idea to whom
you're replying or what this is about.
