Music on PowerPoint

I have Microsoft PowerPoint 2004 for Mac on an ibook with Mac OS X (Tiger).
I have been sent PowerPoints with music but the music doesn't play for me.
Could someone tell me where to go to enable the music, if possible? I tried
one place in preferences under general but it still didn't work.

Unfortunately, the likely culprit is on the sender's end. Have the sender
