Music not playing in PowerPoint

E

Erik

I have created a PowerPoint presentation on my computer. I
have burned it to a CD. I took the CD to my parents
computer and the music won't play. I took it to another
computer and it would play. I know there is nothing wrong
with the CD and the way I burned it, but there is
something wrong with my parents computer.

When I try to click on the link to the music in the slide
show, it gives me the following message:

MCI Error
MMSYSTEM296 The file cannot be played on the specified MCI
device. The file my be corrupt, or not in the correct
format.

Also, when I try and insert an audio file into PowerPoint,
it says,

PowerPoint couldn't insert a sound from the selected file.

Tell me what to do. I have looked through the knowledge
base and tried a couple of things, but it isn't working.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Your parents computer does not have the correct codec for the music file.
