Music my contacts are listening to

Is it possible to stop msn messenger from telling me what music tracks
my contacts are listening to? I really don't care what song they
happen to be listening to - and it's just making my contact window look
more messy.

Not with just Messenger. However, you can patch (which naturally isn't "supported" by
Microsoft) this feature out. To do so, download and use the A-Patch tool:
http://www.a-patch.tk

The specific feature you're looking for is to remove the Contacts Personal Message.
