Multiple Users Loosing Input

My database is split between a BE and a FE which is out on a shared drive.
I have many (@30) people inputting data into 2 different forms at month end.
Most of the time things go pretty well and multiple users are OK. However,
once in awhile a user gets the message that someone else is in the database
and their changes were moved to a clipboard. We were unable to recover any
data at that point.
Where is the clipboard mentioned? Why do these messages appear sometimes?

1. It's possible that all your users don't have full read, write, create, and
delete privileges to the folder holding the database files especially the BE.
The whole folder and not just the file.

2. Go to Tools, Options, Advanced tab. What does it say for Default Open
Mode and Default record locking? I set mine at Shared and Edited record. It
could be that two people are trying to edit the same record at the same time.

3. It's possible that someone is opening up the database exclusively. This
most often happens when they first open Access then find the FE file. It's
best that they open the FE directly from an icon.

Thanks,
I set the Tools to be shared, Eddited Record. It was under "No Locks". I
will have to wait and see if that works.
