I'm a single user on a W2KPro machine, but I appear to have too many
profiles/users whatever they're really called set up following multiple
attempts to get a clean reinstall after a reformat. However I can't seem to
find a way to delete, reduce, manage them, and I worry about deleting stuff
that may be needed by some mysterious Windows force I haven't encountered
before.
In Windows Explorer, under C:\Documents and Settings, I see 8 different
folders:
administrator
Administrator.DOUG-computer ID #
All Users
All Users.WINNT
Default User
Default User.WINNT
Doug Main
Doug Main.DOUG-different computer ID#
Most of them contain different desktop, History, Cookie and temp files (or
at last did before I cleaned 'em all up)
Control Panel | System | User Profiles shows only
Administrator.DOUG-computer ID #
This is what I log on as as well.
What are all the rest of these? Do I need to keep 'em? Where do I go to
clean up?
Thanks
