multiple profiles for administrator account on DC

Can you help with the following?

Why are there multiple entries for the administrator
profile on the DC?

They show up in the form:
administrator.computername.0001
administrator.computername.0002
etc.

This naming convention shows up under documents and
settings.

How can I cause this to happen?

Ross,
Did you find an answer for your problem? I have the same
issue. In my case it has also duplicated other users accounts.
If you know why, and how to correct it, please let me know.
I will appreciate any help. Thanks
