My PC keeps freezing. When I look at task manager (Processes) there are about
fifty (50) copies of ntvdm.exe using up all the memory. In the application
section ther are only 1 or 2 applications running. Any help as to what is
going on will be appreciated. Please not to techicnal, I'm a novice.
Thanks for your help.

My guess is that you have a virus or spyware running in your computer.
ntvdm.exe is the NT Virtual DOS Machine. It is a normal program that should
only run if you try to run old MSDos program. but since you say you have a
lot of copies running at the same time. I think it is a virus. Also, there
are a lot of viruses and spyware that exploit this program. Check your system
for viruses and spywares.
Hope this helps...

Good news is that I am experiecing the same problem with my Kid's PC.
Bad news is that short of re-loading the OS I have no solution yet....
I'll let you know when I do.

I found what was causing my problem. It was Photoshop 3, I deleted it and
problem gone.
