Multiple accounts on single exchange

My wife's company just converted to Exchange Server. She has multiple email
accounts at the company (her personal one and two "project" ones.) She uses
Outlook 2003 as her email client.

The way they set her up she needs to switch back and forth across Exchange
accounts to download her email. In the past (before they converted to
Exchange) they installed Outlook Express on her client. There I set her up
with multiple profiles to get the email from all the accounts. Now they are
installing Outlook on her client. There, like with my laptop, I would have
defined multiple email accounts and used rules to separate the downloaded
email into separate folders (just to keep things clean). That approach
doesn't appear to be an option for multiple emails on a single Exchange
server.

I've searched the net and the best I can find is for her to set up a
delegates capability, but that seemed more like a workaround than a good
solution. The posts I've read about this topic seem to be dealing with
multiple Exchange servers not multiple emails on the same Exchange server.

Is there a way to set up Outlook 2003 to be able to get the email from all
of her Exchange email accounts at the company without having to switch back
and forth? If there is a way, will it pick up the right signature block when
sending emails?

Thanks

Tom

So the answer appears to be to give yourself permission to see one account
from another. Got it. But does that allow her to fire up outlook and
download all email from all her accounts at one time (without having to
bounce back and forth between accounts?)

What I'm used to in a non-Exchange environment is to set up multiple email
accounts in Outlook (pointing to different POP3 accounts), set up the
send/receive to pull all the accounts down at once, set up a few rules to
sort the mail, and bingo! Can anything like that be done in an Outlook
Client/Exchange Server environment?

I will help her with the permissions as described in the link sent. Just
not sure how the physical process of pulling down email to the client and
then sending messages will actually work.

No need to set multiple accounts or rules. Exchange is a single account type
that lets you directly access multiple mailboxes stored within the same
Exchange organisation. There is not a send/receive involved for secondary
mailboxes as the items are stored in the Exchange database and not on the
local client. You'll have a real time view of the contents of the mailbox.

Thanks again

Its been a long time since I was on Exchange (used it when I worked at
Boeing). I had a laptop that was docked when at work. I vaguely recall
being able to work on email at home without being connected to Exchange.
Was/is there the ability to create offline folders for email or is the
current version of Exchange only allow for access to the Exchange "masters"?

It has been improved to Cached Exchange Mode. Note that classic offline mode
and Cached Exchange mode only support offline access to the primary mailbox.

Thanks (again)

Interesting improvement. I may shift over to the Exchange forum to stay
aligned properly. In the mean time, I understand the offline access to the
primary mailbox. That gives me enough to get her customized a little.

Does it seem to you to be a little limiting for only the primary to be
accessed offline? It would seem to me not to be uncommon for an environment
to have multiple emails (my wife's include her personal one and two project
accounts that she heads).

Not uncommon but for projects a mail enabled Public Folder might be better
suited. Public Folders marked as favorites can be cached as well.
