multimedia audio controller

the multimedia audio controller was recently deleted from my compter. Is
there any way I can get it back? I have no sound at all. When I do system
restore, it tells me to insert the CD, but I am not sure what it is or even
how to do this. Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.
