The multimedia audio controller has been deleted from my computer. Is there
anything I can do to get it back? When I use system restore, it tells me to
install the proper CD, but I am not sure which one it is or even what I am
doing. Any suggestions and help is most appreciated.

Was this the base one included with windows?

Check Start->Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices
Does it show your sound device and is your Volume and Speakers Settings
settable or greyed out?

If it is greyed out then your Multimedia Audio Control was included with
your Soundcard and you will need to get the driver/software package from the
hardware manufacturer. If it is an on-board (on motherboard) audio, then
go to the motherboard manufacturers page. If it is a separate audio card,
then go the the audiocard manufacturers page.

So, if it is a SoundBlaster card go to :
http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/

Download the complete package listed for your specific audio card from the
manufacturer.

Hope this helps.
