multiboot??

Michael

After I had WINXP reinstalled from the original disk that
came with my computer I started having the intermidiate
multiboot screen with two options - both are "Windows XP
Professional". When I did my installation I did not create
multiple partitions - it was only one NTFS formatted
partition.

Thanks. Michael.

Edit the boot.ini file(with notepad) and remove the extra boot entry. It's
located in c:\ and is a hidden and protected file, so you have to have those
files set to show in explorers folder options.

Go to Control Panel, System, Advanced, Startup and Recovery. In the System
startup section, click the Edit button to load BOOT.INI Remove the extra
reference to Windows XP. If you're not sure what you're editing, post back
with the contents of your BOOT.INI file.

You'll need to repartition your harddrive into a single
partition, "C" and reinstall WinXP. You can use the
below website to download a partition program and you
must also reformat your harddrive if you currently have
two (2) versions of XP on it:
Ranish Partition Manager v2.44 Beta
