MULTI_AV - Kaspersky

Is there any way I can use a manually downloaded update database from
Kaspersky's website and use it to update MULTI_AV Kaspersky scanner?
Which version of Kaspersky database should I use?5.0 or 6.0?I am
planning to use MULTI_AV on infected computers that are not connected
to the Internet.

Try this.

You can also use an FTP client (anonymous login).

ftp://ftp.kaspersky.com/zips/

Lots of neat stuff to steal on the KL ftp server. You will have to play
with the zipped databases. Not all of them work with all versions of KAV.

The *BEST* way to do this is with a surrogate PC that is connected to the Internet.

Install the Multi AV Scanning Tool on the surrogate PC.

Go through each AV module and update each AV module

Copy the C:\AV-CLS tree from the surrogate PC to a flash drive (thumb drive) and then to the
affected PC. The included PDF Help Files explains about using a surrogate.

NOTE: The Kaspersky module is good for deleting/identifying infected files or archives with
infected files. However, it is not good for cleaning the Registry of an infected platform
because it is DOS utility. The McAfee, Sophos and Trend modules are full Win32 applications
and will repair the Registry (if possible).
