Multi OS Install

Currently, I have Win XP Pro on my hard drive (30 GB). I have placed a
backup (200 GB) hard drive in my CPU also and have partitioned it to have 3
separate partitions, 1 for storage and backing up programs, the other 2, I
would like to install Win 98SE (FAT32) on it and the other, install Win 2000
Pro (NTFS) on it. I have having a real problem trying to figure out how to
install the OS's on these separate partitions. I have tried looking up at
the Microsoft site but am getting stuck with booting my current OS into the
MS-DOS mode. As you can tell, a goofy way to utilize my secondary HD but
this is how I do want to try to do it as I like certain things about each OS
throughout the years. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Since your current installation most likely resides on an NTFS
partition, you must use a third-party boot loader. The native
Windows boot loader cannot do this. Here is what I would do:
1. Repartition the new disk like so:
Partition 1: NTFS (for Win2000) (active partition)
Partition 2: FAT32 (for Win98)
Partition 3: Probably FAT32
2. Disconnect the current disk.
3. Make the new disk the primary master disk.
4. Install the XOSL boot loader in the FAT32 partition. You
can download XOSL from a number of sites - it's free.
4. Install Win2000 in partition 1.
5. Install Win98 in partition 2.
6. Re-activate XOSL.
7. Add Win2000 & Win98 to the XOSL boot menu.
Test both OSs. Hide partitions selectively if you wish.
8. Connect the original disk as the primary slave.
9. Add WinXP to the XOSL boot menu. Add a mark
to the "Swap Disk" tick box to ensure that the WinXP
partition is visible as the first partition.

There is a fair amount of work involved in making this work.
Your best bet would be to play with XOSL on your new
disk until you are fully familiar with this nice tool.

Relatively expensive, but works well. The OS(es) has/have no play in
booting or partitioning if utilizing this. But, supports 2K/XP multibooting
as well.

Other than what's noted on the page, also has a cloning feature builtin to
the partitioning program. Administrator addons of users and passwords, and
which OSes would be selectable for those users.
