MSXML 4.0 SP2

I am a computer dummy needing to ask a question. Could someone please tell
me what "MSXML 4.0 SP2" is? I get the message to update this, but as with
everyone else it seems, it continues to send the message again and again
after I download it. I just want to know what this is before I go to all the
trouble to get rid of the download. Please help the dummy. Thanks in
advance.
