Can anyone tell me what this is? Pest Patrol kicks it out as a trojan
but I have been unable to find out anything about it on the net.

TIA

Indications are that is is a Trojan but I have NOT found any description based upon a file
name.

Download MULTI_AV.EXE from the URL --
http://www.ik-cs.com/programs/virtools/Multi_AV.exe

To use this utility, perform the following...
Execute; Multi_AV.exe { Note: You must use the default folder C:\AV-CLS }
Choose; Unzip
Choose; Close

Execute; C:\AV-CLS\StartMenu.BAT
{ or Double-click on 'Start Menu' in C:\AV-CLS }

NOTE: You may have to disable your software FireWall or allow WGET.EXE to go through your
FireWall to allow it to download the needed AV vendor related files.

C:\AV-CLS\StartMenu.BAT -- { or Double-click on 'Start Menu' in C:\AV-CLS}
This will bring up the initial menu of choices and should be executed in Normal Mode.
This way all the components can be downloaded from each AV vendor's web site.
The choices are; Sophos, Trend, McAfee, Kaspersky, Exit this menu and Reboot the PC.

You can choose to go to each menu item and just download the needed files or you can
download the files and perform a scan in Normal Mode. Once you have downloaded the files
needed for each scanner you want to use, you should reboot the PC into Safe Mode [F8 key
during boot] and re-run the menu again and choose which scanner you want to run in Safe
Mode. It is suggested to run the scanners in both Safe Mode and Normal Mode.

When the menu is displayed hitting 'H' or 'h' will bring up a more comprehensive PDF help
file. http://www.ik-cs.com/multi-av.htm

Ended up using EWIDO Anti-Malware. It found it as Logger.Agent.et and
removed it. It was in c:\windows system32.

It is interesting to note that Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security,
Microsoft's Anti spyware, Webroot Spy Sweeper and Spybot Search &
Destroy, which are all current and running all the time, missed it!

Pest Patrol and EWIDO were the only ones to find it.

No, not interesting.
Microsoft's Anti spyware, Webroot Spy Sweeper and Spybot Search & Destroy don't neccessarily
deal with Trojans of all kinds. You need anti virus software. I can't tell you why Trend
Micro didn't recognize it as they should have removed it but I guess they don't have the
signatures for it because they haven't received a sample for it. It is not an old Trojansd
but appears to be new.

The Multi AV Scanning Tool provided; Sophos, Trend Micro, McAfee and Kaspersky scanners and
I'll bet that at least Kaspersky would have found it and probably McAfee would also. Trend
Sysclean wouldn't get it since it uses the same Pattern File as PC Cillin. That is unless
PC Cillin is NOT up to date on its Pattern File.

Now if you stsill had the file in quarantine, you can submit it to Trend Micro.

The following URL as the submission addresses of many anti virus/anti malware companies.

The file in quarantine is fil55.tmp ...would that be worth submitting?

Yes or you can rename it to somethink such as mspeupx.exe.bak and then submit it.
