Andrea

it was working just fine up until a couple of hours ago.
now everytime I try to use it (either accessing it
directly or by opening a file)I get a message that
reads "paint has encountered a problem and needs to
close." I tried looking for support topics that would
give me SOME insite as to what's going on, but it's like
no one has ever heard of mspaint.exe on windows xp.

what do I do to fix it!?!? please help!!!

e-mail me suggestions at (e-mail address removed).

thanks,
Andrea

I had the same thing happen to me, did you install any
programs just before it started acting up? what fixed it
for me believe it or not was getting rid of the program I
installed.

You can uninstall it and then reinstall it.

Control Panel> Add/Remove> windows components> accessories
and utilities> details > accessories and utilities>
details, again, Accessories> uncheck paint , ok then do
the reverse and re-install it.

Hi

Try uninstalling/re-installing the Paint program via Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows Components>Accessories and Utilities>Details>Accessories>Details. I think you will find a lot of people use a 3rd party program instead of MS Paint.

Failing that, try a System Restore back to a Point before the problem started.
