MsnMail.txt icon on desktop

Dear Forum,

I have a problem that someone might be able to help me with. After I log out
of my email program (Hotmail), I see on my desktop an icon with the label
MsnMail.txt. When I open the icon, I see a bunch of machine language info
pertaining to the messages in my email account. When I delete the icon, it
goes into the recycling bin. But as soon as I return to my Hotmail account,
check my mail, and then log out, the icon pops back up on my desktop.

Why is this happening, and is there any way to stop this annoying intrusion?
(operating system: Windows XP-SP 2)
