Well, maybe not phphBB but Spyaxe for sure something
to do with MSAS. MSAS detects it but cannot remove it !

chinese filter for MSN please remove every damned
URL for Spyaxe, Winhound, Spysheriff etc.

Only keep "REMOVE" urls for this shit.

Hmm - I'm trying to replicate your findings, and cannot--whether I user find
in an IE address window, or go to MSN Search and enter the term Spyaxe, I get
all "negative" results--including, amazingly enough, the paid ads--most of
which look legit to me, although I haven't tested them.

What URL did you go to in doing that search?

and MSAS removed it without any trouble.

Do you do a full scan, was MSAS fully updated, and STAY OFF INTERNET when
scanning a computer.

I have not had 1 computer that I could not remove junk from yet. I have

Did you also install Spyaxe with a Trojan
as "carrier" ?

Nevertheless I´m tired with MS big secrets about everything
and nice PR approach with Live sites.

Must be a lot ot hidden dirt inside the Redmond castle I believe.

FWIW - I could only replicate plun`s comment above with a Google search for
SpyAxe not MSN. Here`s the URL that has the preamble Plun was talking about:

The phpBB search gave me an Error 403 from MSN but not Google.

If MSN filters out phpBB for some security reasons
I believe it´s much more important to filter out rouge apps
like Spyaxe. But all filtering is dangerous beacuse this is a
censorship and I cannot trusth MSN anymore beacuse they are not telling
any users what they are filtering. Hidden in the "Castle of Redmond".

Software and services from Microsoft has always been great but
something has happend and I believe they soon will play in the same
division as 180 Solution, abetterinternet etc if they cannot understand
the need of "fair play", maybe I´m "blue eyed" and stupid but Mr
Ballmer, Mr Nash and the other big bosses has a lot to explain.

I still believes that Windows is better then Linux but something can
change rapidly in this world if MS blows "trustworthy computing".
I can see a "scared sneaky face" behind MS beutiful websites nowadays.

Nevertheless one more Rouge app, be careful out there, Internet is a
nice place.

This does make me wonder whether the "fake spyware" cabal (for want of a
better term!) has taken to manipulating search engine results--this doesn't
seem unlikely to me--they've got pretty sophisticated sites and structures in
place, manipulating traffic to gain Google or MSN search standing doesn't
seem beyond their reach.

Very slick site--got seals of approval and testimonials and all that good
stuff.

I hit the download link--took a long time for them to respond, but the
download itself was very fast. Funny--the little icon has a computer
screen--with what could be a picture of a horse on it--could that be a
trojan horse? Do the developers have a sense of humor? OneCare says it is
clean.

Well, phpBB is the most used/popular open software for board
communitys.
Millions of users use this software every day.

Phpbb uses php scripts php4 or 5 and an open SQL database, mysql.com,
everything is "automagic" to create and config a forum at a webhotel.

Just a search for phpbb with Google gives over 10 million hits.

Of course you then can use the search engine with other php syntaxes to
maybe find dangerous stuff.

Nevertheless all censorship is dangerous for a search engine.
Except if the owner open declares what sort of material they filters
out.

Example filter all PUPs.......... Impossible inte the long run.

Any way you do realize a while back some spyware used google to look for
certain version of phpbb and attack it. It appears as if MSFT is trying to
prevent Virus writers from finding and exploit these sites. (personally a
good idea, but I can see hoe you can get up set with this)

I can also not understand what phpbb has to do with this........

I can understand it with certain php scripts, but this is "pest or
kolera" to compare some php scripts and for example a malicious ActiveX
module.

So the "Castle in Redmond" maybe must open their mind and tell us
customers what the heck they mean with this censorship.

But maybe Ballmer also wants to kill phpBB,php,mySQL and so on.

Who knows........
