MSN Messenger

I have a problem... My MSN Messenger signs me in
automatically even if I don't have the program pulled up.
Under the options, I don't have the "Automatically Run
Messenger when Windows starts up" option selected, nor is
the "Sign Me In Automatically" option selected. It's
obviously running because people send me messages
(although it's not showing up in my task bar).

Could it have something to do with me being signed on at
work? If so, why am I getting these messages at home?

Any answers are appreciated!

Are you sure it isn't "Windows"messenger & not MSN Messenger?
Basically, Windows Messenger is on the same network as MSN Messenger.
Windows Messenger is integrated into Windows XP. With Windows
messenger, you can uncheck "automatically run etc etc", but it doesn't
matter. Your friends running can see you as online from either MSN or
Windows Messenger.

if it is Windows Messenger, & you want to disable it, there is a way.
Ask.

Hi! I found out that it was the Windows Messenger and got
some info on it today. When I pulled up the Windows
Messenger, sure enough, I was logged in! I also found out
that Norton could be causing it to start up also, so I
disabled the scanning of that as well. Hopefully now, I
won't have anymore probs with it.
