MSN Hijacked me!!!

My homepage has been reset upon running MS Antispyware to
the MSN homepage. When looking under "hep" to try to find
out how to change it, this is all I found:
"
What are the Signs Your Computer is Infected with Spyware?
Below are five signs that your computer might be infected
with spyware:

1. Your Web browser's homepage is reset to an undesirable
Web site and you cannot change it back.
"

Hmmmm... anyone know how to make MSN STOP changing my
homepage??????

Try Control Panel - Internet Options then type in the
home page you want in the address bar.

MSN/MSAS DID NOT hijack your browser. YOU DID!

MSAS DOES NOT change ANY settings unless YOU tell it to!

The default settings for the Browser Hijack Settings
Restore (Tools > Advanced Tools > Browser Hijack Settings
Restore) are set to the default settings for IE. This is
done to make certain that if your browser has in fact
been hijacked before installing the app, the bogus
settings WILL NOT be used to "restore" the browser
settings.

You MUST go to Browser Hijack Settings Restore before
launching IE to change the default settings for IE. When
you do this, it checks the current settings to the
settings stored in MSAS. If these settings are
different, it asks (warning dialog box) you if you want
to change the current settings to the ones stored in MSAS.

I have just installed MSAV on a WinXP SP2 PC and I keep getting the warning
that An IE start page change requires aproval. This was to be expected as a
custom start page was allready in use. The problem is that when I aprove the
change MSAV ignores the change and does not update the restore value and
keeps prompting for aproval. Even when I set it in the Browser Restore page
it does not update the entry there. I have installed MSAV on many machines
but have never had this problem . Any ideas? I have uninstalled and
reinstalled with no luck. Also installed; Office 2003 ENT, iTunes, Symantec
AV Corp 10.0, Nokia Suite, Firefox.

Try this:

1) uninstall Microsoft Antispyware
2) delete the \program files\microsoft antispyware folder and all
subfolders. You will lose access to any quarantined items, and history and
custom settings.
3) reinstall Microsoft Antispyware

I think the syndrome you are seeing relates to corruption in one or more of
the .GCD files--and this is my sledgehammer approach to fixing that.

Is the account you are using the same administrator
account that installed the app?

If not, then this will occurr since the current release
is only a beffed up version of the original single-user
app that Giant Company, now owned by MS, produced.
