MSMPENG.EXE STILL an Issue

I have been trying to get Windows OneCare and Defender to let my system run
since about this time last year (2006). I've had product support promise to
help (but they didn't) and the MVP alias finally give up. I have my Defender
scan set to weekly but every single time the laptop comes out of standby or
reboots, Defender takes over the CPU for 10 minutes or longer. As a result
I've had to uninstall Windows OneCare. Scanning Google, I can see that it's a
pervasive problem that Microsoft must FIX.

I agree. Sometimes its even worse for me - once it took over my PC for half
an hour. Since I only had 512MB RAM and a Pentium 4 CPU this rendered my PC
unusuable for half an hour.
