msimn.exe - Application Error

Eric Lim

At times when I close Outlook Express 6 in Win2000Pro I
receive this message box:

msimn.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x000aef1d" referenced memory
at "0x0000000000". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

I looked everywhere to resolve this issue and i'm
wondering if anyone else has this problem.
Thanks in advance.

Reinstalling IE 6 in Windows 2000 will likely do nothing to Outlook Express. He has to change a reg entry first:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}

Change the IsInstalled value to 0

Then reinstall IE 6. This will install a new Outlook Express 6.
