Msconfig is not a valid Win32 application

Hi.

Since yesterday when i try going into msconfig i click
start > run > msconfig
and get a box saying "msconfig.exe is not a valid win32 application"
ive tried clearing all temp files, with no success
and ive even tried a system restore to a few days before i got this problem
and still it says this. if anyone can help me please? i really need msconfig
