MSAS1.0.701 wants info from spynet.com

Since upgrading to new version of MSAS, whenever I'm not connected to the
internet, a message appears every 30 seconds, something like - 'You or a
program have requested information from spynet.com. Which connection do you
want to use?'

Why is MSAS wanting info from spynet.com, and what can I do to stop this
message appearing?
I can check 'Don't remind me until next time I log on', but how does that
affect MSAS operations if I go online before logging on again?

I tried unchecking the 'connect me to spynet' option, but that makes no
difference.
The older version of MSAS would sometimes want info from
giantantispyware.com [every 10 seconds!] - I could fix that by resetting the
auto-update function [switching it off, and back on], but that doesn't seem
to help with the new version.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Colin.

Thanks Alan, for your reply.
I don't think I actually touched anything in MSAS. The message started to
come up up as soon as my dial-up was disconnected - or before I made a
connection.
MSAS should be looking for updates only at the scheduled time - once a day,
not every 10, or 30 seconds.

Anyways, the problem seems to have sorted itself out... as they sometimes do.
Also I'm now on permanent BB connection. The problem hasn't recurred when
connection is disabled, yet.

Cheers,
Colin.

Spynet.com is actually MSAS' home page. Type in spynet.com into any web
browser and you'll be directed to
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx.

If you clicked on something requesting more info in one of MSAS' dailog box,
this will occurr unless you allow it to connect to spynet.com. Also,
updating requires a connection to spynet.com.
