MSAS missing a PRINT LOG capability?

J

JOE Z.

Hi,

Am I missing something, or are there NO "print log"
functions on MSAS? I see that the menu allows to "VIEW
Spyware Scan History", but I haven't discovered how to
save this log to file, or to print it. You can't even hi-
lite the viewed log, and send it to clipboard, for
pasting & printing.

In a recent disaster, MSAS found 3 threats on the hard
drive, and logged that it was cleared up. However, I
would like some method, other than quill and parchment,
to record these named threats in the scan log, so I can
follow up with other programs, like Norton etc., to have
a crack at it, if MAS be unsucessfull, or to search for a
cleaning script somewhere on the net. At the very least a
printed log is useful just for future problem reference,
or follow up.

Thanks

You aren't missing anything. The buttons were there in the Giant product,
but are whited out in this beta.

For some dialogs and explanations, ctrl-a highlights all, and you can then
copy and paste.

Sorry Bill, but I tried the "CRTL-A" on several MSAS
(ver. 509) screens, and nothing highlights or saves to
clipboard.

Most important, it would be useful to capture at least
the screen at:
:Tools->Real Time Protection->View Security Agent Events

This would contain the names and times of found
threats, and would be useful for further follow up web
searches.

Can you provide a reference screen in MSAS, where the
CTRL-A thing does work, as you say?

Thanks

Possibly a bug Bill, some features work some don't.

Hi Joe,
Realizing that this is still Beta and not yet complete, as an alternative
one could do an ALT-PRTScreen then paste into MSPaint. It's not pretty, now
what we hope for in the long run, but it works.

Sure. Take that same screen you just mentioned.

Highlight a given event.

Now--in the right pane, click once then do ctrl-a:

Maybe not precisely what you were looking for, but useful all the same.
We'd probably both like this popped out in xml, or CSV or some form for easy
analysis by the tools of our choice, but that isn't there in this product.
But there's minimal capability to get the info out.
