Disable the touchpad.

Thank you for your reply. How do I disable the touch pad and if I do does
that mean I need to get an external mouse? Thank you, SK

The touchpad is too sensitive. Your shirtsleeve, or just the pecking of
the keys is causing the mouse redirects. If there's no way to lower the
click sensitivity of the touchpad, a mouse may be the best answer.
First, if there's a touchpad icon in the notification area, or in
Control Panel, look at the options available.

To remove the touchpad, open Device Manager and disable the device. You
might have to change BIOS settings to actually remove it.

You do not need to disable the touchpad.

If your laptop uses either a Synaptics or Alps touchpad, they both
have an option to turn 'Tapping' off. It is the tapping that is the
problem.

Note that with 'Tapping' turned off you will have to press the
touchpad buttons to perform a click not simply 'tap' the touchpad.

You guys are great, thanks for all the input. I have done some research and
it seems I do have the Alps touchpad, unfortunetly I cannot find the option
to turn off the tapping or do anything else to the touchpad accept make my
cursor look like a dinosaur or peeling banana. The troubleshooter says to get
to mouse properties I should go to control panel and click printers and other
devices but I don't have that option in my control panel and just printers
doesn't take me to mouse. When I do see a properties box option it leads me
sort of no where. I'm still at a loss. Thanks for staying w/me on this, SK
