MS Word Copy & Paste annoyance

P

Hi,

I like to type my forum posts on MS Word for some basic grammar and
spell checking. The problem occurs when I copy the text from MS Word
and then paste the text into a text area box in my Firefox web browser.
I get double line feeds.

Is there any way to get MS Word to stop copying these extra line feeds?

For example, consider the following text:When the truth gets far too deep,
Past the thousand years asleep,
Time demands I turn around,
And once again the truth is found.

Now if I copy and paste the text into a text area box in Firefox web
browser I get:When the truth gets far too deep,

Past the thousand years asleep,

Time demands I turn around,

And once again the truth is found.

What I end up doing is copying from MS Word, pasting into TextPad
editor, recopying the text from TextPad, then repaste into Firefox web
browser text area box. For some reason TextPad removes the extra line
feeds.

Is there any way to get MS Word to stop copying these extra line feeds
so I can directly copy and paste from Word to Firefox text are box?

Thanks,
Paul

The reason this happens is that you're pressing Enter at the end of each
line. When you paste into an HTML form, the paragraph break is interpreted
as two line breaks. If you will instead press Shift+Enter to insert a line
break where you don't need a paragraph break, you will get the results you
want.
