MS web site keeps crashing my IE6

I have all updates to my IE6, Office 2003, XP Pro, SR2, all current,
AdAware, Avast, Windows Defender, Windows Firewall ON, but--I cannot
retrieve my @live.com email because that site still crashes my IE as soon as
I go in to it. It's virtually impossible to contact MS about this.

No other web sites cause this problem -- NONE.

Please help. Thank you.

Clear the IE 6 cache. (IE, tools, Options, Delete Files button, include
offline content.)

Please look in Event Viewer and post a copy of the Error Report.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report
complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.

I've run into a situation on a few sites now that will crash IE, if the
latest Flash player update is not applied.

If there is no flash animation on the site in question, this won't be the
problem, but it's easy to go to Adobe and get the latest version.

Otherwise, you do want to look closely at the error messages and details to
see if a file is mentioned. In the example above, the file finally
mentioned was "flash.ocx".

to the route I intended to give you is "Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, Event Viewer.

Are you going to post copies? In this case concentrate on the
Applications log. Go to the site to create an incident and note the
time. Then look in Event Viewer.

Copy and paste a complete copy of the error!

[ ] Use HTTP 1.1 ,= Make sure this checked
[ ] Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections
If you using proxy check the proxy one if not check only the first one.

Then under Security Option:

[ ] Use SSL 2.0
[ ] Use SSL 3.0
[ ] Use STL 1.0
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.
Also on the Program tab you can click on Reset the Web Settings Button to
Reset the IE settings.

so be generous with it <g> turn the computer OFF and wait for the time to go
by!!.
Then Turn the Router/Modem ON and wait a minute or so then Power ON the
computer and try to establish a connection and try the link, does it work?.

If still then continue the heavy work:
Open windows Explorer and locate the Hosts file and Rename it to Hosts.OLD
Reboot the machine and try, does it work.

Open a run command and type in:
sfc /scannow click [OK] you will need the XP CD installation media to
accomplish this operation.

= Either try to update your windows scripting engine or Java version on your
computer, try to uninstall the old Java first.

To this NG or to the MS site? Confused. I did click on the URL but it opened

Impossible for me -- blind user. But all caches, .tmp files, et al have been
kept clean routinely (every other day). Only this one URL crashes...no
others.

.. When you visit a Web page that uses a custom pop-up object, Internet
Explorer 6 closes unexpectedly

Resolves an error in the Mshtml.dll file that occurs after you install
security update 918899. If you are not severely affected by this problem, we
recommend that you wait for the next cumulative security update for Internet
Explorer.

A large group (comparitely) of MS Updates was received today, downloaded,
then I shut down, restarted. The last two times I went into live.com this
event did not occur. Perhaps, then, the above reference is correct (in it's
total explanation on the MS site). We'll see.
