MS Spyware Beta

While I realize that the above product is a beta I have run the scan a number
of times and it has never identified an issue or problem with something that
should be removed. I then ran another product that identified not only those
that may not cause problems but also those that would be dangerous or
potentially dangerous. Am I doing something wrong or have I set up the
product wrong. Also, I have the version that expires in July? Please offer
any help!!

Hi losman,

Could you give us an idea of some of the spyware your other AntiSpyware
utility is finding that Microsoft AntiSpyware is not detecting? If its
anything to do with cookies, that is known issue, beta 1 does not detect
cººkies.

You can delete cookies easily by going to start menu > C:/drive > Documents
and Settings > YourUsername > Cookies and opening that folder, Delete any you
dont want from there,

Another option is open a IE browser window and goto tools on the top bar ,
choose Internet Options then press delete cookies,

Third option is from the same page (Internet Options) press the Privacy Tab
and click Advanced - Here you can block and restrict cookies getting onto the
system but they are very usefull to remember usernames & passwords on sites
so only restrict third party cookies if you use that option.

Go here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A2-6A57-4C57-A8BD-DBF62EDA9671&displaylang=en

download from the above site and run the downloaded file to upgrade to a
version which expires 7/31/2006

Also check windows updates for your OS to make sure you have the latest
security patches and service packs instªlled :
