MS Photo Printing Wizard

I am using the MS Photo Printing Wizard that came with
XP. Sometimes the pictures are a bit too dark and
sometimes, part of the photo is cut off (it showed ok in
the preview section).

Suggestions?

More than likely you need a digital image editing
program so you can adjust the Brightness and
Contrast of your images.

Here's an article that discusses matching your
printed output to your monitor screen, maybe it
will be informative.

This is caused by the fact that the aspect ratio of
your images does not match the aspect ratio of
the size template you are choosing. When the
wizard "Auto Crops" your image to "Fit" in the
selected template...a portion of the edges of the
image files is removed.

Also if you notice the captions under the templates,
all of them say "Cropped and Rotated to fit" except
one... The "4 X 6 album prints" template does not
auto rotate. Sooo if you use this template for Portrait
mode images...they will be cut off at the top and
bottom.

Here's a article that explains aspect ratio better
than I can:

Unexpected Cropping

You would have much more control of the
appearance of your images and the way they
print if you had a digital image editing program.

There are many to choose from but IMHO
Digital Image Pro 9 would be a good choice.
