ms paint

Im tyring to re-open ms paint in the original formt that was on my system but
it will not open.Does windows updater interfere with this? The file
version/driver is 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2105).Everytime i try to open
(ms paint) the media and fax viewer page comes onto screen and shows other
stuff i have stored.Im only new at this web stuff and i need to know if i
have to download the driver again.I have the original windows disk but i am
concerned about erasing data or corrupting files i have stored.

To me iot sounds like you have changed associations or something.

Are you saying that if you go through the start menu (Start button --> All
Programs --> Accessories --> Paint) and click on Paint - the Fax Viewer
opens instead?

Or - are you saying you double-click on a file and it opens the Fax Viewer?

The latter is a file association issue. Right-click on the file in
question, choose "Open With" and then "Choose Program" and find "Paint" in
the list and click on it *once* and check the "Always use the selected
program to open this kind of file" checkbox and click OK.
