MS Outlook 2003 Hangs while typing

Hi there,

I have a brand new laptop that has outlook 2003 on it. I have imported all
my old PST files from my old PC and setup my account properly. Since then, I
have noticed that about every 10 seconds or so, while I am typing anything in
a new message or anywhere in outlook that as I type, the program will appear
to hang, and then after a second or two, it will catch up to itself. So, the
typing will all be there in the end, but it is very annoying. I have played
with services and startup items, Basically disabling them all, and that made
no difference. If I have the task manager is I have noticed during these
little hangs coincide with OUTLOOK.EXE spiking the CPU usage from 0% to
about 35%. Any cluse what could be doing this? Thanks.

Doubtful it's Outlook itself, but some other service or process that
is causing the "Lag". It might help to do a compress operation on
your PST modules. If it's a new laptop then it probably is loaded
up with OEM Value Added software ( = Junk) that needs removal.

You may want to use Process Explorer, a tool from SysInternals
to monitor system performance:
