MS Office Outlook does not recognize

F

FACTS

Folks:

My organization just recently deployed MS Outlook 2003 with an Exchange
2003 backend to our 150+ administrative staff.

We have a couple of clients who are having difficulties with distribution
lists.

We create a brand new distribution list in their contacts and attempt to
send message to the contact.

When the new message opens up, the distribution list name is added to the
To: field, but it is not auto resolved nor does it have the + sign to
expand the list. When you attempt to send the email, Outlook reports back
that "Microsoft Office Outlook does not recognize XXXXX".

The odd thing about this situation is that we can log into the same Outlook
account via OWA and send to the list. It resolves properly and underlines.
Therefore, we were thinking that this is an MS Office problem. So, we
uninstalled and reinstalled. No luck. We have also compared some registry
settings with two machines as well.

If anyone has some insight into this problem or a resolution, I would be
interested in hearing from you.

Cheers!
- Alex

Are you using cached mode?

1. Try turning off cached mode.

If that fixes the problem, you can turn cached mode back on and try to
force an address book download. Go to Tools, Send and Receive, Download
Address Book.
If that doesn't work you can try to delete the ost file and have Outlook
re-download it.
