MS CONFIG HELP

deleted a bunch of spyware off of the computer, then
restarted and went into MS Config so I could uncheck the
old startup items for the spyware and IOMEGA Icons, I
also uncheck ALCHEM.EXE which I thought was related. Now
when the computer restarts, I get the XP HOME Logon
Screen. Click on the name it appears to start then says
saving your settings and goes back to LOGON screen. I've
tried last know good config, safe mode etc. Still the
same. HELP FAST this is a business computer.

Sinc the computer is on, I can go through the network and
reach the I386 file. I just need to know what to
manipulate.

Since we have no idea what you deleted, there's not much to say to help you.

The correct way to remove spyware is to use one of the many spyware removal
tools. One example of this is Ad-aware, by Lavasoft, which you can find at
www.lavasoftusa.com. You might want to restore your computer to a point
before you started deleting things, if you can, and then install a removal
tool.

The major spyware manufacturers also publish specific instructions for
spyware removal.

No removal tool can guarantee to remove all spyware and no tool will repair
the damage to Windows that the spyware can cause. That's why prevention,
though it may be severe, is always better then cure.

The built-in System File Checker will examine key Windows system files and
prompt you to replace any it finds changed or missing. To use it, go to
Start > Run and type this into the text box: sfc /scannow. This procedure
may repair any damage you caused by deleting inappropriately.

I forgot to add, I'm a bit more than a novice user. So
removal and ramifcations of manual spyware removal are
apparent to me, the first part of your suggestion does me
little good. The second suggestion is also not a viable
solution. After removing the spyware and other BS search
bars from the box, I went to MSCONFIG to the Selective
Start-up and removed certain items from the process.
Items which I knew were not neccessary for the start up
procedure. However, since doing this, the computer
reboots, goes to logon, when logon name is clicked either
in normal, last known good config or safe mode I get the
same response. The startup goes to "loading personal
settings" then too, "disconnecting from the network" then
to "Saving your settings" only to go back to the logon on
screen. I've done this even with the Administrator logon
in safe mode, normal and last known good config. Still
nothing. Since I cannot locate this goofs, recovery and
OS disks I'm backing up data across the network from this
machine. Can you offer some way I can go through the
network to fix this. I can get to his machine and
manipulate the I386 folder but not the Windows Folder.

don't think thats your problem,(I have unchecked
everything in every computer I work on,then go into the
antivirus and turn it on at start-up)sounds like you may
have selected services.Really sounds like you got a virus!
Can you get to your antivirus files in 386?Open it up and
try running it.If not your mistake may cost you a restore
(you may have to buy a copy of XP to cover it).
