MS com port driver help

Arughhhh!

My Dell Inspiron 2500 with LT Win modem (MS driver
6.0.0.0) will hang up and not allow it to either,
hibernate or standby. Plus I must uninstall the modem
each time I shut down. My Com driver is (MS 5.1.2600.0).

This is a pain in the butt.

I've been to both Dell and MS support areas and have yet
to find ANYONE who can help me - other than telling me to
uninstall the modem each time I use the machine when I
shut dow, and "have a nice day".

Anyone have any advice on where to find a new com port
driver?

Hi,

Disable Quicken background download manager, if you have it running.
This should solve the problem. Get the latest drivers for your Lucent modem,
contact dell for this.
