Access MS Access Time & Billing "total payments" question

I have downloaded the MS Access Time & Billing Template from Microsoft. I have started to add data. I have 2 clients I am billing for. I have been using the template for two months (2 billing cycles) Here is my question...

When I run an Invoice it shows all the amounts billed, minus the payments, then the amount owed. The math is correct but I don't like the way it looks.

I want to only show the amounts for the current billing cycle. I have tried to filter by current month only and it still shows all the billable amounts, minus the payments, then the total...

Can any one tell me how to get ONLY the billable amounts for one month, and remove the previous months billable amounts and payments????
