mpg files and players in FrontPage 2002

Don Sundheim

I can't get .mpeg files to play on the web even though I
put the files in media directory and linked to them.

I've used 2 FrontPage add-ins for Windows Media Player or
RealPlayer insertion with no better success.

Files play well on development computer before publishing
to ftp site so I suspect my link address or server is at
fault. One add-in may depend on FrontPage server
extensions but I'm unsure.

Anyone with success in this area?

Thanks!

When you say "media directory" do you
mean a folder named media inside your web,
or the Media directory located at C:\windows\media
on your local computer?? If "media" on your computer
it won't work.

All files used by a web "must" be imported into the web,
then linked to, and then "published" to the server.
