Moving windows

Hello all,

I am using an application that requires at least 1024 pixels
resolution in the vertical direction on a laptop that can only give
about 760 pixels. So to use all the options on some of the windows of
this application, I have to move them around.
Now, I might have moved one of the windows outside the screen so that
the title bar and the bottom edge are outside the screen. How do I
move this window back into the screen so I can see the title bar again?
Is there a keyboard shortcut to move the window when you are only
seeing the middle portion and the side edges of the window?

Thanks for your help,
PT

With the window active (has focus) for the oversize application, hit
Alt+Spacebar, M, and then arrow keys to move around. I would think you
could also just use the Maximize item in the right-click context menu for
the application's taskbar button to force its window down to the size of the
screen.

Hi,

Without knowing more about the progrma you are using it is tough to help you
but there are a couple of things that have worked for me.

First - I had that problem on the Desktop once, moved an open window too far
off the screen. To fix it, I went to the "Task Manager" (by pressing ctrl +
alt + del), selected the open window that was off the screen (it showed up on
Task Manager) and click on End. Then I reopened the application for that
window and it was more or less centered on the screen.

Second - Try restarting your system in Safe Mode. Method of entering Safe
Mode depends on your system, but you can try pressing and holding F2
immediately when the initial screen opens when you reboot. If F2 is not
correct, you may also be able to find out how to open in Safe Mode by
checling your owners manual or doing a web search for Safe mode for your
system.

I'd be interrested to know if either of the above works.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion! But the alt+spacebar, M command seems to
work only on the main window of the program. I need to move one of the
windows inside the main program window.
Curiously enough, right clicking on the title bar of one of the windows
inside the main program does not bring up the menu where you can select
move. The only way to move one of these windows is to left click on
the program icon in the title bar to move, resize etc. Perhaps this
has to do with the fact that the alt+spacebar, M command does not work
on the windows?

Thanks,
PT
