i recently started using outlook, and i dont really like it, so i was going
to move back to AOL mail, but none of the messages are there, apparently
outlook deleted them from aim!! i was not to happy, as i had about 2,000
emails, and would like them back on aol... i have outlook 2007, and really
want my messages back just the way they where... is there anyway to do that
at all, or will i have to deal with it because of microsofts wonderful idea
to delete all the messages from where it came, THANKS MICROSOFT!! i knew i
shouldn't have done this...

Err that behaviour is the standard behaviour of ALL Email clients, whether
MS or Mozilla or Eudora, or Pegasus, unless YOU the user, changes it.
I thought that accessing AOL email in Outlook involved IMAP not POP?

If I'm not mistaken, AOL uses IMAP. You should be able to put the
messages back on their server. How did you configure AOL on Outlook? POP
or IMAP?

All email clients, which access an email server using POP3, delete email
from the server when downloading it, unless the user configures the client
to leave email on the server. This isn't a Microsoft issue.

OTOH, I didn't know that AOL offered POP3 access. And IMAP access, which I
know AOL offers, shouldn't delete email from the server. You should be able
to move the email back to an IMAP server by moving it to the IMAP folders in
the client.
