Moving Imported Pictures/Saving Movie to CD or DVD

Hi,

I'm fairly new to Movie Maker 5.1 but find it easy to use. I have a few
questions on problems I encountered today.

1. I imported pictures from My Pictures and added them into a video. I saved
the video. Several days later, I moved the pictures to a different file in My
Pictures only to discover a bunch of red X's in my Movie Maker collection. Is
there any way to "disconnect" the imported pictures from their source, in
this case My Pictures?

2. I burned the saved file to CD but again, I needed to burn the pictures
separately on the same CD otherwise the movie had all those red X's again.
What am I doing wrong?

3. Is there anyway to save a movie to DVD rather than CD?

Sorry for so many questions.

Thanks,

KP

The source files are not included in a Movie Maker
..mswmm project file. Movie Maker just records the
path to the original files. When you move or delete
the original files the path is lost.

If the files are still on your hard drive...right click
the Red Xs and browse to the new location.

If you want a complete...finished file...save as
a movie:

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next / Next.
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as an .avi movie file...
(and several other options)
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

Nothing wrong...that's the way a .mswmm
project file is structured.

3. Is there anyway to save a movie to DVD rather than CD?

Save the file as a Movie...wmv or .avi as
previously described and purchase DVD
Authoring software.

You have to move your pictures back to where they were originally. MM lost
the link when you moved them. Movie maker doesn't save the pics in a
different file but connects them via a link. Hope this is clear to you.

Thanks so much for the info. Now I know to set up the source folder ahead of
time so I don't have to move things around later.

I appreciate the help.
