Version 2003. How can you move contacts that were created only within a
distribution list to the contacts area? I can't drag and drop them, and they
were not originally added to the full Contacts list when they were created.

You create Contacts correctly. File > New > Contact.
You cannot import a DL into your Contacts. It might be possible to save your
DL as a text file, convert it to CSV than import the members to a Contacts
Folder. Good luck with that.

Ok--thanks for the definitive on that. Wasn't sure if I missed something

It is possible in Outlook 2007 at least
you can try in other version too, I suppose it would work
Save your Distribution list as a text file rtf or other
Open the file Select all Copy
Open a blank Excel file, Paste all in it
Save as a csv file
then go to Outlook and import that csv file in your contacts and it is done
don't buy any conversion software free and easy
