Movie Maker reboots PC at end of importing video

I have Movie Maker 2.1., XP Pro SP2 with all updates, XP3200, 1GB RAM,
3 GB virtual memory.

I have captured a 90 minute 1.5GB wmv file and am trying import it in
Movie Maker.

It takes about 30minutes to do this and as it reaches 100% the PC
reboots and I lose it all.

Any help appreciated

Try importing it again... with the option to 'Create clips for video files'
unchecked.... it should import in a second as a single clip in the
collection.

It it crashes on importing.... see my website's Problem Solving > Crashes
and Hangs page

what you were doing is a 2 step process.... you got past the first part now

for further testing, try right-clicking on the clip in the collection bin
and opt for 'Create Clips'... that's the 2nd step.
